Lesson

A few years back I wrote a song about my father, I had never met him and was thinking about finding him. I was over all the anger and stuff that one has from the feeling of abandonment. This song just came to me, it is not out of anger or spite but is from the realazation that stuff happens for a reason.

Lesson

You walked out of my life when I was too young to remember
Put me in a club not wanting to be a member
Don't know what you were thinking
Left your little boy without blinking

I needed you to teach me
I needed to learn
I needed you to teach me
Should have been my turn
Life isn't fair
Did you even care

You lived minutes away
You could have seen me everyday
Was it too much to ask
Or were you scared of the task
I would've loved to play ball
Or even just a call

I needed you to teach me
I needed to learn
I needed you to teach me
Should have been my turn
Life isn't fair
Did you even care

I am grown now with children of my own
Never did I feel the need to roam
It took me many years to see
Lifes lesson you had taught me
I never ran
Because I knew how to be a man
